About Us

The aforementioned temple is one of the prominent and ancient temples situated in the village called Anthinad which is in Meenachil Taluk of Kottayam District. Along with Lord Siva, the Goddess “bhadrakali” is also been worshiped here. Location of the temple is about 6 kilo metres from Pala towards Thodupuzha, which is in the banks of Punalur-Muvattupuzha highway. We have Lord Siva facing towards East and Goddess Parvathi Devi facing towards west.

Sri Puthiyakavil Bhagavathi

There is a small temple for Puthiyakavu BHagavathi, this temple is located at the western side of Siva temple. This idol is considered as important as the Lord Siva. This Devi is considered to be the daughter of Lord Siva. The land where this Devi temple located is believed to be farm land several years ago and public used to conduct Devi Kalam Pattu ceremonies at this place and eventually the presence of Devi at this place came up in no time. It is believed that The Power of Devi came from another temple at Pala Kizhathadiyoor, through a holy messenger. Worshipping this Devi is very effective for tackling enemies and disease cureness. Payasam, Hibiscus garland, kalam burning are major offerings of this temple.

Sri Parvathi

Paravathi devi is located at the back side of Lord Siva idol and facing towards West. It is believed very relevant for those who are facing setback to get marriage to worship Parvathi Devi here on Mondays. Uma Maheswara Pooja, Pournami Pooja etc are major offerings here.

Ganapathi

Ganapathi is the son of Lord Siva and the idol sits at the lap of Lord Siva here. Karuka garland, Mukkutti archana, Ganapathi homam, coconut breaking etc are major offerings for Ganapthi.

Sastha

There is an idol for Sri Dharma Sastha located right next to the Lord Siva kovil, Sastha is considered to be the solution for all kinds of Doshams. Similar to Ganapathi, Sastha also keeping the son character in this temple. Neeranjanam, Sesame payasam etc are major offerings for Sastha here.

Vishnu

The presence of Vishu is very famous and relevant in this temple, because Vishnu sits together with Lord Siva in same Kovil. Sala Grama is the appearance of Vishnu here. Milk Payasam is the major offering for Vishnu here.

Nagaraja Nagayakshi

This temple gives prominent importance for Lord Naga and it’s followers. Public often comes here and does offerings like “Ayilyam Pooja” or “noorum Paalum” in order to get rid of Sarpa Doshams.

Rakshassu

Apart from other closeby temple, the presence of Rakshass here is very important. Infact Rakshass here is the old Monk who used to be the owner of this temple. It is believed that the Rakshass is responsible for the security of this temple. Prior to any ceremonies, it is normal that a ghee lighting is offered to Rakshass.

Yakshi

It is very rare to see “Yakhsi” idols in Siva temple, thus the one here in Anthinad Mahadeva temple is of utmost importance and power. The big palm tree in temple premises comprises of Yakshi presence, as per ancient believes. It is also believed that this Yakshi is a hardcore follower of Lord Siva.

Khandakarna

This Lord is situated at the Devi temple premises. Major offerings are Vara Nivedya and Tender coconut offering.

Sarppam

There are several Snake Gods within this temple premises especially at the south western corner. “Ayilyam” is the star of Sarpas and people do conduct Ayilyam Poojas every month here.
